XLRI Offers Marketing Law Elective

* For the first time in an Indian B-School

XLRI has achieved a distinction of sorts with Prof. P K Padhi offering the “Marketing Law” elective for Business Management students. This is perhaps the first time that an Indian B-School has offered such a course. Decisions of Marketing Executives frequently raise issues which should be carefully evaluated as to their legal consequences before they are implemented. The objective of Prof. Padhi’s course is to cover the national laws and court decisions that relate to the four Ps of marketing – product, price, place and promotion.

Prof. Padhi, who has 18 years of experience in teaching and research, has published 10 books and a number of articles of high repute. He served as Principal, University Law College, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar for nearly 8 years. He was also a Visiting Professor at XIM Bhubaneswar for more than 10 years and his areas of specialization include Industrial Relations, Labour Law, Company Law, Trade Law, Collective Bargaining, Child Labour, and Intellectual Property Rights.
