25th Marketing Fair Concludes In City of Birth

The Celebrations for the 25th Anniversary of The Marketing Fair got over amidst fanfare on this biting Jamshedpur winter, after a grand start yesterday. A proud City descended on Campus to be part of the celebration. The Fair was in top form, as usual, with over 4000 citizens participating right from 11 am to the close at 7 O’ clock this evening. Long queues patiently waited before each stall to take part in the games, taking the chilling Jamshedpur weather on their stride.

The celebrations were inaugurated yesterday by the old MAXI Secretaries and Dr Sharad Sarin, the pioneer of The Fair concept. Dr Sarin took a trip down memory lane recalling how The Fair evolved over the years, the Herculean challenges that came in its path and how the odds were overcome.

An interesting panel discussion then followed where old Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI) Secretaries, Ajay Uppal, Senior Executive with Birla Tires; P N Subramanium, 1983 MAXI Secretary and currently Head of Third Eye; C V L Srinivas, 1993 MAXI Secretary and Managing Director, Maximize India and Dr E M Rao, Dean (Academics), XLRI and renowned author and Professor of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations took part.

The Celebration also saw Dr Sarin unveil the next logical step of the Fair - The Marketing Lab. Working on it for the past few years, he dedicated the concept, coinciding with the 25th Fair. Mohit Sud, the present Secretary of MAXI played a perfect host on the occasion.
